Best Three Peaks Challenge company

If you're comparing providers for a company event, this page gives you a direct checklist of what matters before you book.

The honest answer

The best provider is the one that runs the challenge directly, manages transport and logistics end-to-end, and puts qualified leaders on the mountain.

Our model keeps transport and logistics in-house rather than outsourced. When you compare providers, ask directly who owns transport operations on event day. That difference affects timing control, contingency handling and accountability.

We also run events with Mountain Leader-qualified staff. If conditions change on the hill, decisions are made on the mountain by the same team delivering your event.

What to actually ask a provider

  • Who owns transport and logistics? Ask if vehicles and event logistics are managed in-house or outsourced. This is one of the biggest operational differences between providers.
  • Do you run the events or subcontract? Some companies sell events and then hire freelance leaders. You need to know who is responsible for your team on the mountain.
  • What qualifications do your leaders hold? Mountain Leader (ML) or Mountain Instructor Award (MIA) are the standards. Ask.
  • What happens if a summit is closed? Weather closures happen. Ask for the provider's route and safety decision process in advance.
  • What's included and what isn't? Transport between peaks on the National, food, checkpoints, and safety cover vary by provider. Ask for an itemised list.
  • Can you handle our group size? A team of 120 needs staggered starts, radios, and multiple leaders. Not every company can deliver that.

Which challenge fits your team?

  • Private Yorkshire Three Peaks: 24-mile loop, no driving between peaks. Handles 200 people in one day because it's a loop walk with one start point. The default for large company groups.
  • Private National Three Peaks: Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, Snowdon. Widely recognised, with lower capacity because of 10+ hours of driving between three countries.
  • Private Welsh Three Peaks: Snowdon, Cadair Idris, Pen y Fan. Fits a weekend. Shorter drives between peaks (1-2 hours vs 5+).

Not sure? See large teams (50-200) or SME teams (8-30).

Private date vs guided date

Private

Your date, your group, your schedule. Briefings and pacing are built around your team.

Private bookings and dates

Guided

Turn up, we handle everything. No minimum numbers. You walk alongside other participants but your team can stick together.
