Kit List for the Oggie 8 Challenge

Please note the mandatory items - unsuitable footwear is our most common kit issue.

Mandatory

  • Walking boots (with ankle support, not trail shoes or trainers)
  • Waterproof jacket and waterproof overtrousers (both with taped seams)
  • Headtorch (mandatory for April and September events)
  • Hiking socks
  • Backpack (approx. 15-20 litre size)
  • Water container (bottle or Camelbak-style, 1-2 litres)
  • Food & hill snacks (prepared pasta, cereal bars, dried fruit, nuts)
  • Gloves
  • Hat (covering ears)

Recommended clothing

  • Walking trousers or sports leggings (not jeans or tracksuit trousers)
  • Sports top (not cotton)
  • Warm outer layer (fleece or windstopper-type)
  • Changes of clothes

Recommended, optional

  • Sunglasses & suncream
  • Walking poles
  • Backpack raincover

Leave in car, for afterwards

  • Comfortable shoes
