Charity places explained
This page is for participants choosing a charity place. It explains how charity places differ from standard bookings and where to find available dates.

What a charity place means in practice
A charity place means you join as a fundraiser. The charity may provide the place directly or via a listing, and there is usually a minimum fundraising target.
Some charity places are subsidised or free, meaning the charity covers your entry fee. In return, you are expected to raise a higher minimum. Others are self-funded, where you pay the entry fee yourself and your fundraising total is separate. The booking page will make this clear.
How it differs from a standard booking
- Standard booking: you pay the entry fee, turn up, do the challenge. No fundraising required.
- Charity place: you are raising money for a charity. There is usually a fundraising minimum, and the charity may provide additional support (training plans, fundraising materials, team comms).
- Dedicated charity fundraising event date: the charity has booked an exclusive date for their supporters. If your charity has told you about a specific event date, use the booking link they provide.
