Open National Three Peaks Challenge

The Open event is the perfect way for small groups and individuals to take part in the Challenge. On these dates, we group together individuals and small groups of a similar level of fitness, to complete the challenge together, with the help of our mountain guides and support staff.

On these Open events, we travel and walk in groups of about ten — made up of existing individuals and small groups of similar levels of fitness. Groups are led on each mountain by our guides. We follow the 24-hour target itinerary below, and most often we'll complete the challenge within 24-hours.

£420 per person, including a deposit of £80 required to reserve places

7am Saturday Meet your guides and group by Fort William station. How to get to Fort William? Arrive having eaten breakfast.
8am Saturday Begin the Challenge at Ben Nevis, walking the Pony Track, aiming for a five hour climb.
1pm Saturday Complete Ben Nevis and travel by minibus to Scafell Pike (six hour drive).
7pm Saturday Arrive at Scafell Pike and begin the climb from Wasdale Head, walking for around four hours.
11pm Saturday Complete Scafell Pike. Hot breakfast provided before driving to Snowdon (four hour drive).
3am Sunday Arrive at Snowdon and begin climb of around five hours. We'll ascend on the Pyg Track, and come down the Llanberis path, arriving next to the Mountain Railway office and cafe.
8am Sunday Complete the Three Peaks Challenge!
Sunday late morning Transfers provided to Chester for trains home. We suggest booking open tickets without a fixed time, or booking for 2pm onwards in case of delays.
7am Tuesday Meet your guides and group by Fort William station. How to get to Fort William?
8am Tuesday Begin the Challenge at Ben Nevis, aiming for a five hour climb.
1pm Tuesday Complete Ben Nevis and travel by minibus to Scafell Pike (six hour drive).
7pm Tuesday Arrive at Scafell Pike and begin the climb, walking for around four hours.
11pm Tuesday Complete Scafell Pike. Hot breakfast provided before driving to Snowdon (four hour drive).
3am Wednesday Arrive at Snowdon and begin climb of around five hours.
8am Wednesday Complete the Three Peaks Challenge!
Wednesday late morning Transfers provided to Chester for trains home.

Not Included

Travel to Fort William

We suggest travel to Fort William by train via Glasgow — there are three daily services, the latest leaving Glasgow Airport at 16:50, arriving into Fort William at 22:09

Please note that while we will aim to complete the Challenge within 24-hours, we can be delayed by weather, traffic and other elements, and our focus is on the safety of all involved.
