West Highland Way

West Highland Way

Scotland's Premier Long-Distance Path

The West Highland Way was Scotland's first official long-distance path, opened in 1980 and now attracting over 30,000 walkers annually. This 96-mile route runs from Milngavie on the outskirts of Glasgow to Fort William beneath Ben Nevis, traversing some of the Highlands' most celebrated landscapes.

The trail passes along the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, crosses the wild expanse of Rannoch Moor, and descends through Glen Nevis to journey's end. Well-waymarked and supported by excellent accommodation, the West Highland Way offers an accessible introduction to Scottish mountain walking while delivering genuinely dramatic scenery.
