Joining a Guided Challenge
On our guided events, you make your own way to Fort William where the challenge begins. We provide all transport between mountains and finish in North Wales with a transfer to Chester station.
Getting to Fort William
By Train
Travel via Glasgow with a change onto the scenic West Highland Line:
- Edinburgh Waverley → Glasgow Queen Street: ~50 minutes
- Glasgow Queen Street → Fort William: ~4 hours
- Total journey: ~5 hours with connection
By Car
Two main route options:
- Via Stirling (recommended): M9 → A84 → A82 through Glencoe (130 miles / 2.5-3 hours)
- Via Glasgow: M8 → A82 along Loch Lomond (140 miles / 3 hours)
Getting Home from Chester
Our guided events finish with a transfer to Chester station. From Chester, trains to Edinburgh take approximately 3.5-4 hours via Crewe or Preston.
