Our environmental policy — Three Peaks Challenge Ltd

Our Environmental Policy

Three Peaks Challenge Ltd recognise that while we love helping people enjoy and discover our National Parks, there is a delicate balance to be had when conducting business in such environments.

We have developed the three stage policy below to guide us when planning and operating our events.

1. Sustainable use of the outdoor environment

  1. Exercise care and concern for the environment
  2. Avoid routes and sites, when requested by land managers, due to environmental concerns
  3. Monitor locations used for environmental damage
  4. Assist with the repair or maintenance of sites used

2. Avoiding conflict with the local community

  1. Respect the interest of others, those who live, work and carry out their recreation in the environment of our work
  2. Comply with bylaws and access agreements
  3. Liaise with landowners and local communities over any activities with may affect them, or the land over which they have control
  4. Be sensitive to the potential impacts of their operation in the area
  5. Follow the Countryside Code

3. Educate participants about the natural environment and local area

  1. Promote awareness and respect for the natural environment
  2. Encourage greater understanding of the natural world and the cultural setting of the surroundings
  3. Educate participants as to the appropriate way to enjoy and explore the countryside
  4. Encourage groups to take action for the environment
