Calderdale Way
A South Pennines Circuit
The Calderdale Way forms a 50-mile circular route through the steep-sided valleys and windswept moorlands of the South Pennines. This trail explores the historic textile heartland of West Yorkshire, where stone-built mill towns nestle in narrow valleys beneath open hilltops.
The route passes through Hebden Bridge, Todmorden, and numerous smaller villages, connecting reservoirs, packhorse trails, and remnants of the industrial revolution. The landscape combines wild gritstone edges with a rich human history of wool production and Nonconformist religion.
