Nidderdale Way

Exploring a Hidden Yorkshire Dale

The Nidderdale Way circuits the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty over 53 miles, exploring one of the quieter corners of the Yorkshire Dales. This circular route from Pateley Bridge follows the valley of the River Nidd through a landscape of reservoirs, grouse moors, and limestone scenery.

The trail visits Gouthwaite Reservoir, the dramatic rock formations of Brimham Rocks, and the atmospheric ruins of Fountains Abbey nearby. Less frequented than the national park dales to the west, Nidderdale offers a peaceful walking experience through quintessential Yorkshire countryside.
