Dales High Way

Dales High Way

A High-Level Yorkshire Traverse

The Dales High Way runs for 90 miles from Saltaire near Bradford to Appleby-in-Westmorland, crossing the Yorkshire Dales along elevated routes that keep walkers on the high ground wherever possible. Created in 2006, this modern trail offers a challenging alternative to valley-floor paths.

The route traverses the limestone uplands of Malhamdale, the wild expanses of Langstrothdale, and the remote fells around Mallerstang before descending to the historic market town of Appleby. With significant ascent throughout, this trail suits experienced walkers seeking panoramic views and a true sense of elevation.
