A High-Level Yorkshire Traverse

The Dales High Way runs for 90 miles from Saltaire near Bradford to Appleby-in-Westmorland, crossing the Yorkshire Dales along elevated routes that keep walkers on the high ground wherever possible. Created in 2006, this modern trail offers a challenging alternative to valley-floor paths.

The route traverses the limestone uplands of Malhamdale, the wild expanses of Langstrothdale, and the remote fells around Mallerstang before descending to the historic market town of Appleby.
